African Musicians
Artist: Amed Ajibu Ajeeba Kabba
I met this artist in 1992 in Sierra Leone. This painting is full of light and color and is signed in the lower right corner. A gouache (pronounced gwash) is similar to a watercolor but has zinc white added to make the resulting pigment opaque rather than transparent. Kabba was born October 14, 1952, in Freetown, Sierra Leone. To quote his résumé, his inspiration is obtained through “nature, people, climate, and my mind.”
